Simple Ways to Live Green

Happy Earth Day! There are so many simple things we can do to make our Earth a better place here are a few:

  1. Inflate your tires properly. You will cut down on carbon dioxide and also save some green.

Only run your dishwasher with a full load. You will again cut down on carbon dioxide and save some more $$$$.

Adjust your thermostat in your home. Turn it down a few degrees in the winter and up a few degrees in the summer.

Plant a tree, trees suck up carbon dioxide.

Turn lights off when not in the room. I feel like I am the light police. I walk around the house turning lights off.

It is the little things that can make such a big difference.

It doesn't have to just be earth day to be green. I try to be green all through out the year by doing all of the things listed above. Switcing to bioheat is also always an option as well. Have you ever heard of it? It's very popular in the green community so I'd be surprised if you haven't. It's AWESOME! It's biodegradable and non-toxic, so you can forget about breathing in all of those nasty fumes and what not. The best part about it is that it's made up of heating oils blended with every-day products like avocado and corn. Cool right?

I heard about it through my job here at NORA. I did a bit more research and found some more great tips and interesting info from:

Check it out and see what other interesting info is out there that you might be able to use.
